Dying Changes Living

Four years ago, Tina Hines collapsed in her driveway and died. Today, she is training for a half-marathon and telling anyone who will listen about the wondrous beauty of Heaven and the overwhelming love of Jesus.

Tina’s medically documented death was caused by sudden cardiac arrest. After twenty-seven minutes with no heartbeat
and little to no oxygen to her brain, Tina Hines was blue and lifeless. Emergency room physicians decided on a final attempt to defibrillate her heart to revive her.

Miraculously, her heart started beating. All of her vital signs returned to normal. Tina immediately saw the fluorescent lights of the emergency room ceiling and knew she had returned to her body.

While her husband, firefighters, paramedics, and emergency room doctors worked over Tina’s lifeless body, she was in Heaven in the presence of Jesus. When Tina regained
consciousness after a medically induced coma, she scribbled on a notepad, “It’s Reall.”

When doctors removed the respirator, she could immediately speak. Tina described her
time in Heaven to her family:
“Such beautiful light everywhere. Yellow light, like the color of sunflowers all around me.

Every color in Heaven absolutely radiated with vibrance like sunrises and sunsets. I stood
in the very Presence of my magnificent Savior, Jesus.

Overwhelming love flowed from His
glorious face, His eyes, and His outstretched hands. Jesus’ love and peace completely
encompassed me. I knew complete and total joy in those moments in Heaven!”

Four years later, Tina has just released a devotional based on her journals since her death. The devotional “It’s Real…
Heaven. How Dying Changes Living” is available on Amazon.

It is a message of hope for the fearful and comfort for those who have lost loved ones. Containing honest insights about her shortcomings, Tina describes how her experience
is helping her faith grow. She tackles topics like fear, anxiety, depression, priorities, and relationships, paired with Scripture and biblical teaching.

Dying Changes Living for Tina Hines

Tina Hines dropped dead in her driveway on February 12, 2018.  Medical records confirm that Tina was clinically dead for twenty-seven minutes.  When she regained consciousness, she scribbled “It’s Real” on a piece of paper.  Her son asked, “Mom, are you saying Heaven is real?”  She nodded yes.

Heaven... It's Real. How Dying Changes Living devotional

I can’t wait to share my new 30-day devotional book with you!  Since I died and Jesus brought me back to life, I have been keeping a journal to write down the lessons God is teaching me.  Dying really has changed how I am living, and I am so grateful for a much more Heavenly perspective.  I posted a little video with my thoughts about today’s book release. I hope you will take a moment to watch it, and continue to keep me in prayer.

I am honest in my journal and my devotional.  I have learned a lot since my death, but I know I have so much more to learn.  It is my deepest hope that sharing my journal/devotional will help you in your journey of faith in this fallen world.

I describe what it was like in Heaven, and to see Jesus face to face.  I also share about life struggles, the kind we all share, and how I am seeing life differently, learning to follow Jesus more closely.

I really believe God gave me the insights in “Heaven… It’s Real…How Dying Changes Living”  to be a source of hope and encouragement to you.  It has been a rough couple of years for everyone, and the reality of Heaven and Jesus is needed now more than ever.

May our Lord bless, strengthen, and encourage you,

Tina Marie Hines

                                  More Exciting News!

Wow, have we been blessed! This past weekend the Christian Broadcasting Network came to Phoenix to film a feature story about how Jesus miraculously brought me back to life and how it has changed myself and my family.  What an adventure!  First a medical researcher combed through all of my medical records, and interviewed firefighters, paramedics, doctors and nurses to make sure that I was truly dead for twenty-seven minutes.  Once we passed that test, the producer invited all of those folks to join us in telling the story.  That is just what we did, and everyone is so excited – the producer says she has not EVER been this excited since she began her career as a producer!

We know it is God ordained and His timing is perfect.  We believe it will air in February to an audience of several million.  We also were able to talk about the devotional, and hope it will be used of God in a mighty way! Please join us in prayer for this Good News of the reality of Heaven and Jesus to go out far and wide, encouraging and strengthening believers.  Please also pray God will use it to bring those that don’t know Him out of the darkness and into His marvelous light.

                               From “It’s Real… Heaven
                            How Dying Changes Living

                                    Day 1 – Perspective

My thoughts…
God…..
I will always choose the truth of Your Word and trust that You are at work in my life.   In prayer, Jesus spoke to me, “How could you not, Tina?  When I touched your heart after it had stopped beating for 27 minutes, it immediately was restored.  I can do all things if they are according to My plans.”

I was without sign of life – no heartbeat, no breath.  No reason for my family to believe for a miracle after twenty-seven minutes.    Despairing, without hope, overcome by grief.  And in an instant, it all changed with one touch from the Savior.

I pray I will be faithful in choosing to look through His eyes at life rather than through my own eyes. After dying and returning to life, I know it doesn’t matter how impossible the situation seems to be.  God is much more real, all-powerful, and truly sovereign than earthly eyes can comprehend.  He WILL accomplish His plans and purposes.

Proverbs 2: 1-8 ESV
My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you, making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding; yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding; he stores up sound wisdom for the upright; he is a shield to those who walk in integrity, guarding the paths of justice and watching over the way of his saints.

Day 30 From the Devotional
A Mansion for You

My thoughts…

I have been given another chance at life. Not many people are given the gift of dying and then living again. It was not dying that changed me. Everybody will die. Not everybody will go to Heaven and be with Jesus.

So few have died and now have the opportunity to share about the experience of death. I can tell you that my body was dead, but my spirit was truly alive in Christ!

I think Christians who fear death are not aware of how much Jesus prepares us! So much encouragement to not be afraid, so many beautiful descriptions of the glorious eternal life that awaits us! And yet, so many remain fearful.

Maybe it is not death that Christians are afraid of. Perhaps it is the suffering that precedes death that scares us. All I know is the truth that no matter WHAT we experience, Jesus promises to never leave or forsake us! He even promised we would not die alone. I also know how loving, kind, and full of mercy our Heavenly Father is. How He carries us when we are weak, comforts us when we are hurting, and cherishes us when we feel alone. How could the journey into His Presence be any different?

Don’t let your heart be troubled. He is Emmanuel – God With Us! He will not leave or forsake us. He loves us. We are precious in His sight. Rest in His provision and Presence. Take courage! Heaven… it’s REAL, and the arms of Jesus are stretched out to draw you in close – now and for eternity.

John 14:1-4 ESV
“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in Me.  In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to Myself, that where I am you may be also.  And you know the way to where I am going.”

In the above passage, Jesus was comforting His disciples as His earthly ministry was coming to a close, preparing them for His return to His Father in Heaven.

Jesus gives the disciples specifics about preparing a dwelling place for them in Heaven. The Greek word is “mone” and literally translated means abode. The focus was not on giant mansions in the sky but rather the disciples dwelling with Jesus in Heaven. This is the point believers can take the most comfort from. Jesus has prepared a place for His followers, will return for each one, and take us there Himself when it is time.

Death is a transition from living in a fallen world with a decaying earthly body to living for eternity in the Presence of Almighty God. We will not make the transition from this life to the next alone – our Savior will come and get us! How does this biblical truth impact your understanding of the death experience? In what ways do you need to change your thinking to match the biblical reality of death?

HEAVEN IS REAL – TINA HINES HAS BEEN THERE

On February 12th, 2018 at 4:40pm Tina Hines, an athletic wife and mother, was standing in her driveway waiting to hike desert trails. Mid-sentence of a casual chat with a close friend, she collapsed and stopped breathing. Emergency 911 operators coached her husband’s resuscitation efforts until paramedics arrived. They made three attempts to defibrillate Tina with no response. Efforts to revive Tina continued en route to the hospital with two more defibrillation attempts and no results. In the emergency room, sometime between 5:05 and 5:10pm, the doctors defibrillated Tina for the sixth time, and her heart finally began to beat again. From 4:40 to 5:05pm, Tina Hines was without a heartbeat and little to no oxygen.

Tina was placed on a ventilator and in a medically induced coma. The emergency room doctor cautioned Tina’s husband Brian about her critical condition and the potential outcomes caused by no oxygen to her brain for 27 minutes. Family and friends gathered and began to pray around the clock.
At 4pm the following day, doctors determined Tina was stable enough to reduce sedation to determine if Tina could breath on her own.

At 4:15pm, surrounded by her family, Tina regained consciousness and began motioning that she wanted to write. After several minutes of struggling, she had scribbled the letters “ITS REALL”. Family asked her “It’s real?” She nodded yes, and they asked, “What’s real? Pain? The hospital?”. Each wrong question received a shake of her head. Finally, one of her children asked, “Heaven?”. Tina nodded yes and there was silence in the room. Finally, her husband asked, “Tina, were you in Heaven?”. She nodded yes, and then her daughter asked, “Did you see Jesus?”. Again, Tina nodded yes. Celebration broke out in the room and her family knew she was going to be fine.

The next day, Tina was walking around the ICU making friends and sharing her message of hope. After being clinically dead for 27+ minutes, paramedics, doctors and nurses involved agreed that Tina’s recovery was miraculous. On Friday, February 16th Tina was released from the hospital, overwhelmed with joy for the miracle she had experienced.

Today, Tina believes Jesus gave her the glimpse of Heaven and of Himself for the purpose of sharing the hope of Heaven with others. Dying has changed how Tina lives – her perspective, her priorities, and her purpose. Tina describes her heart’s desire to share her story, express her love, and live out the Gospel in these words: “ I want to be intentional, authentic and open about my beautiful experience with Jesus, and seeing him face-to-face. In the process I also want to share how dying has changed living.” Without doubt, Tina Hines proclaims that Jesus is real, and that she saw Him in Heaven. She will share her miraculous journey with all who are hungry for hope, passion and purpose.

It’s Real… Heaven. I’ve Been There.

On Monday, February 12, 2018, Tina Hines was having a great day. Until she died at 4:40 pm. “Her eyes didn’t close, and they were rolled back in her head. She was purple and not making any noise or breathing,” said Brian Hines. Doctors described it like turning off a light switch- she just collapsed and that was it.

For 27 minutes Tina’s husband, paramedics, and doctors worked on Tina. Paramedics defibrillated Tina five times with no success. When they arrived at the hospital they tried again. On the 6th try at 5:07pm, her heart began to beat again.

During the 27 minutes Tina had no vital signs of life, she was in heaven. “It was so real, the colors were so vibrant,” said Tina. She saw beautifully ornate gates and Jesus standing in front of them, with a bright yellow glow behind him.

Tina was placed on a ventilator and put in a medically induced coma. The doctor warned Brian that while Tina was alive, she had been with little to no oxygen to her brain for 27 minutes, and cautioned about brain damage. Family and friends waited and prayed around the clock.

The following day doctors decided to reduce sedation and see if Tina would breathe on her own. When she came to, still intubated, Tina continued to motion that she wanted something, and the family figured out that she wanted pen and paper to write. With closed eyes, she struggled to write for several minutes, with closed eyes, she managed to scribble the words “It’s real.” The family started guessing what was real – the hospital, the pain? The answer was no. One of her children finally guessed… “heaven?”, and she nodded yes with tears rolling down her cheeks. She was asked if she saw Jesus, and again she nodded yes!

There is so much more to Tina’s miraculous meeting in Heaven with Jesus and the lessons she and her family have been learning since then. Dying has changed how they are living!
